Psy/Soc Club Meeting on October 29

The Psychology/Sociology Club will meet on Wednesday, October 29, at 5:30 p.m. in Room 245.  We will discuss our plans for Preview Day, the bake sale we’re holding next week at the SUAVE Fall Carnival, and a possible upcoming field trip.  Everyone is welcome to come.

Psy/Soc Club Meeting on October 15

The Psychology/Sociology Club will be having a Game Night on Wednesday, October 15, at 5:30 p.m. in Room 245 of the Psychology/Sociology Building.  Possible games include Thinkblot, Rorschach, Spy Alley, Apples to Apples, and more.  All are welcome to come!

Psychology/Sociology Club Meeting on September 24

The Psychology/Sociology Club will meet on Wednesday, September 24, at 5:30 p.m. in Room 245.  Dr. Wendi Wang, visiting scholar from China, will talk about some cultural similarities and differences between Chinese and American universities and also describe some of his research.  We’ll also present some information about internships so students who are considering internships for the Spring 2015 semester can start getting those lined up. 

Faculty presentation at the American Psychological Association meeting

Dr. Judy Orton Grissett recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in the 2014 Annual APA Convention.  She presented her research as part of a poster symposium titled "Psychological Impacts of Experiences in Nature" with researchers from Georgia State University and Fielding Graduate University.  The title of Dr. Grissett's presentation was "Relationship Between Informal Experiences with Nature and Ecological Reasoning among Adolescents."

Students accepted into graduate programs

Vontreia Colbert (Sociology) has been accepted into the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Florida A & M University. 

Susanna Turner (Psychology) was accepted at GA Regents University and will pursue a Masters in Clinical/Counseling Psychology.
