Suicide Prevention Affirmation Board
The Psychology/Sociology Club created an affirmation board for suicide awareness. The board is on display outside of the classrooms on the second floor of Carter 2. Stop by and check it out. Helpline information was also spread out.
We thank Andrea Kromminga, Director of Counseling and Wellness Services, for supporting this effort. People who are interested in joining the club should contact Dr. Ellen Cotter.

Ghosh Presents at the Midwestern Sociological Society Conference
Debaleena Ghosh (Assistant Professor of Sociology) gave a presentation on teaching methodology at the Midwestern Sociological Society conference in Chicago, IL. The topic was "Understanding Gender Via Textual Analysis of Media/Pop Culture." She also chaired a panel on the book, "Revolutions in Cuba and Venezuela: One Hope, Two Realities" authored by Silvia Pedraza (Professor of Sociology at the University of Michigan) and Carlos A. Romero (Emeritus Professor of Political Science at the Universidad Central de Venezuela).
