New building ribbon cutting ceremony
On May 2, an official dedication of the Health and Human Sciences Phase II building was held. Rosalynn Carter, Jimmy Carter, and other members of the Carter family were present, as well as local politicians and members from the Board of Regents. After the ribbon cutting a statue of Rosalynn Carter was unveiled. It was a very special occasion that marked an important step forward for the Psychology/Sociology Department, the Rosalynn Carter Caregiving Institute, and Georgia Southwestern.
